Code of Conduct

We are committed to creating a safe, positive and respectful environment for every young person. To support this we have one Code of Conduct for beaver colony, cubs pack and scout troop.

We, the adult volunteers, young people (Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts) and parents/carers of 12th Harpenden St Nicholas Scout Group, commit to creating a respectful, enjoyable, and safe environment. Our goal is to work together, support one another, and make every meeting both fun and challenging.

RESPECT

Respect for each other, our adult volunteers, our equipment and our environment

Our Shared Commitments:

Respect for each other

  • Treat everyone with kindness
  • Help each other
  • Cooperate and work as a team

Respect for our adult volunteers

  • Listen carefully to instructions and explanations
  • Show respect during ceremonies and presentations
  • Let us know if something doesn’t feel right

Respect for our equipment

  • Take care of your own equipment
  • Respect the belongings of other young people
  • Treat all equipment used during meetings and activities with care

Respect for our environment

  • Keep the church hall clean and tidy
  • When outdoors, ensure the area is free of litter and left in good condition

Consequences for not following our Code of Conduct:

  1. If a young person does not follow the Code of Conduct, certain privileges may be removed, including participation in activities.
  2. Continued poor behaviour or repeated disruption may result in a yellow card. Two yellow cards in a term will lead to a red card and the young person being asked to miss a meeting.
