Young people: membership, transfers and leavers

Waiting list

For details on how families can join our waiting list, including details of our waiting list policy see How to join.

This includes details on when we offer places.

Allocating places

For details on how and when we allocate places to beavers see How to join.

Places at cubs and scouts are offered via the District Waiting list in the first instance.

Moving up to cubs and then scouts

During the second half term of each term (i.e. March, June and November) we write to those who are due to move up to the next section at the start of the next term.

- there can be some flexibility - please discuss with the GLV.

- OSM shows the projected movements of our young people.

Updating OSM: At the end of each term OSM is updated for all movers between sections

Transfers between scout groups

Transfers between scout groups

District policy is that transfers within the district are not encouraged but may take place at the discretion of the incoming groups GLV.

- All transfers should be initiated by the GLV of the group where the young person is currently a member.

 - If one of our beavers, cubs or scouts wishes to transfer, please contact our GLV.

- If you are contacted by a parent who wants their young person to join 12th Harpenden and they are a beaver, cub or scout elsewhere please ask them to speak to their GLV.

    Leavers

From time to time young people decide not to continue at beavers, cubs or scouts.

Please inform the GLV and leave the OSM record intact.
